Went too far east. Houston getting hammered. We might get some wind, if we are lucky we might get a little light rain. To understand Texas weather forecast you need to concentrate on the 10 day outlook. The better the chance of rain 10 days out means it is less likely you will get anything. Ex. 10 days ago they were showing 80% chance of 4 to 5 inches of rain, that translates to maybe .02", but some of that could be severe. ??

Same here, regardless of what their computers say, you can count on it being wrong.
Today's meteorologists rely on computers and modeling, much in the way doctors rely on drugs, if there isn't a drug for it, they're lost.
If the models crap due to a satellite out, or ocean buoy measurement being off, they can't think for themselves.

Texas weather is pretty easy to predict, on a dry year it don't rain.

I lost my border collie today. She was 17 years old, was a companion to me and my wife for each and every day. She got to play with all the grandkids this week, the whole nine yards, swimming after sticks in the water, chasing balls. And then she laid down. R.I.P. Can not tell you how much she will be missed.

I know exactly how you feel, having buried over 30+ myself, but like you, we are losing Liberty Bell (Libby) who I refer to as bait because she is so small, Toys puppy from when we first met.
Though just a mut mix Cocker poodle mix of 20 Lbs. she helped me get through the loss of my other two life long friends, Heidi and Pal, she found Pal as a puppy and when she died, he died a week later of pure loneliness.

Nothing will replace the joy they brought to our lives my friend, and Libby has had two strokes in the last two days,  so we're prepared for the worst.

You described the perfect exit for our friends. They saw the family one last time, had a wonderful day and moved on from there.
Proof there is a God. We'll see them all soon enough.

I bet there's young=um's here that don't know what that references.  On second thought, maybe they do. :scared: Don't look like Dallas has anything to worry about.

We're back in our typical pattern. After the 16" + of rain we had in May, June/July went dry. Only 3" for the two months. Don't expect anything in August. There is still showers popping up now and then but wide spread rain don't do much good.  Just now hit the 100's, up to now it has been a mild summer. Summer here typically runs from May through September.

Hell, that goes all the way back to 1975, doesn't it? My friend was a bit of a perv and was into all kinds of porn and watched everything, not an upstanding guy I grew up with. That's another story...
We've had our hottest July on record going into August, though cool nights for me, the Sacto. valley had days of 114 and nights in the 90s.

If not for records, seasons would be boring.

This is going to do a number on the coastal cities like Savannah, Charleston, and such.  I am 125 miles from Charleston and we have been getting rain bands from the storm since midnight. I think Charleston and Isle of Palms have already had almost a foot of rain... Storm surge will only add to the misery...

Thanks VVeT for that update, we have friends in that area and haven't heard from them as of yet.

Well, we had an interesting couple of days. We got 7" of rain total, so that puts us well above the average so far, enough to shut the left up on drought.
All reservoirs are at max, more than enough water for homes and farms, assuming dumbass Newscum doesn't dump it in the ocean!

I read the rain gauge wrong, it has a center column that has the one inch measure first that dumps into the larger column, I forgot to include the original inch, so it was 8" total not 7.

That's a lot of rain for the mountains. Any damage?
