It's not like these people weren't warned, they knew their policies would be canceled, problem is, no other insurance companies would pick them up.
I've never had insurance. I'm probably 200K ahead because I knew how to manage my forest and protect my land.
But these people live on lots, the so called forest next to them is a water strained area, a literal live desert full of chaparral, plants high in oil content as a mechanism to survive lack of water.

Guv Newscum was given billions by Trump to clean up these areas so fires wouldn't have fuel, but he wasted it all on social bull shit and God knows what else..

Oh, and the only insurance available? State insurance, way over priced and not meant to rebuild your roof or garage, it is complete loss or nothing at all, and it's fair Mkt value.
Now that the Mkt collapsed for these areas, they'll reassess the value to a tenth of what it was.

I swear, it is so obvious that a land grab was in the making, just like they did to those in Maui, they reassessed their land to nothing, offered them pittance and said take it or leave it.
