As much as I would like to believe this, the story is not true.  Here is a discussion of the location and where the "diesel generator" story came from. In reality, you would need about 25MW in generation capacity to power this site at full capacity, or about 50!! locomotive generators...

The meme stretched the truth a little bit, which is what meme's do. However there is truth to the claim. Here's a couple of articles.

QuoteSuperchargers charge vehicles up to the 80% sweet spot in as little as 20 minutes, but to provide that kind of power for nearly 100 bays takes something solar can't provide — diesel generators.

Investigative journalist Edward Niedermeyer discovered that the station was powered by diesel generators hidden behind a Shell station. Reporters at SF Gate tried to find out how much of the station's electricity was from the generators, but couldn't get a response from Tesla.

The station isn't connected to any dedicated solar farms, which means that absent the diesel generators, the station is powered by California's grid.

Quote"I discovered that Tesla's battery swap station was not in fact being made available to owners who regularly drove between California's two largest cities," Niedermeyer wrote in a May 2022 exposé for Slate. "Instead, the company was running diesel generators to power additional Superchargers (the kind that take 30 to 60 minutes to recharge a battery) to handle the holiday rush, their exhaust mingling with the unmistakable smell of bulls—t."
QuoteIt's unclear just what percentage of Supercharger power at Harris Ranch is being generated via diesel, as even apps devoted to tracking what kind of energy is delivered to Superchargers have no idea. Musk himself promised Superchargers would be entirely solar-fed back in 2017. So far that is definitely not the case.

I am not surprised at all  :stomp  I suspect that there are a number of these fossil-fuel powered charging stations that exist, especially for the more powerful chargers where the current utility service to the site is insufficient to add EV charging loads. Note that a single Tesla Supercharger V3 outputs 250KW, that is easily the power supply to 8-10 homes.
