Quote from: ZenMode on August 25, 2023, 10:37:32 AMI'm saying mayors making bad decisions is completely irrelevant to a discussion about the fringe on both Left and Right cheering their respective riots and being outraged over other riots.
Fringe my ass, this is typical of liberal mayors and elected officials everywhere, and damn typical of you.  The police, the FBI opened the doors to let the patriots into the capitol. Can you show me where shop owners opened their doors to let the rioters loot and burn it down? Can you show me all the selfies the police took with those looting? And you want to post that somehow it is the same? You and Jean-Pierre have a lot in common.

for the third time, the question, or in this case the meme, topic is those who cheered rioters. Rational people don't cheer what happened on January 6th. Rational people don't cheer what happened after George Floyd was killed. It's really that simple.

What is in question is what is a riot. Read this again and try to understand the difference. If you can not see the difference, no need to continue this discussion.

There are multiple definitions of the word riot.  What happened on January 6th and after George Floyd was killed clearly meets the definition of riot. Why you want to dispute something so obvious is odd.

Lets try this once more, can you answer the questions?

You see, the police did take pictures and let them in the doors, that in itself shows it was not a riot.

The fact that a few cops made bad decisions does not mean what happened was not a riot.

The fact that one or two mayors made bad decisions does not make the George Floyd riots not riots.

The police did not treat the patriots as rioters. No rioters, no riot.

NOBODY has said the Floyd riots, with all the looting, with all the destruction, with all the buildings burned, were not riots. Stop using strawmen.

There were many police officers who were investigated for their behavior during the J6 riots. I'm curious, how many police do you think were there fighting to keep the rioters out? How many police do you believe were there who were not doing their job, but were letting people in and taking selfies?

Doesn't matter what I think. I know it happened! I know national guard help was turned down. I know the FBI was there encouraging the patriots to go on in. That is all on the record. Now show me where the police and FBI encouraged rioters to loot and burn at the Floyd riots, or any of the democrat riots. Bet you can't.

Even if you believe it doesn't matter, you can still answer the question.

Play your own silly game, if I came up with a number it would only be a guess, that what you do. Lets stick to what we know, the police let them in. The police posed with the patriots for selfies. Yeah, really sounds like a bad ass riot. On a scale of one to ten, I wonder how taking selfies compares with sending mean memes?

Ok, since you don't want to answer that question, I'm curious if you saw all the video of Capitol police fighting, sometimes for their lives,  with rioters?

I'm also curious, out of all the Floyd riots across the country, what percentage of police do you believe stood by and let looters loot and vandals vandalize?

No not fighting for their lives. I saw a woman on the ground who they beat the hell out of, I saw another woman shot dead, THROUGH A LOCKED DOOR. I saw the patriots had no weapons. I saw the patriots walking side by side with the police. I saw the patriots having conversations with the police. But again, there were others involved Jan.6th , not just the patriots, what happened to those tapes? I have yet to see the report that identified them, or that ruled out that they were not the ones committing what crimes you are saying did happen.  But if, as you say, there were police fighting for their lives, why were the police in all the videos I saw acting as if everything was going good? Why did police, interacting with the crowd, find it necessary to kill one and beat up another? We should have the answers by now, but don't. Last I checked, about six months ago, the policeman who shot Ashli Babbitt had yet to been officially interviewed. There are a whole lot of unanswered questions about that day, only someone as closed minded as yourself can not see that.

Again, irrelevant. I can only guess, I do not know the actual number. What I can tell you, in my opinion only, the police were vastly out numbered. Their lives were in danger, real danger not the crap you are pretending at the capitol. They needed the backing of those in charge, not for those in charge to give encouragement to the criminals by telling the police to stand down. Those who gave that order did not stand with the police, they did not stand with the business owners, they did not stand for the citizens safety, THEY STOOD WITH THE CRIMINALS.

I'll try again, because I'm curious what your guess is for each situation.

According to the federal government website  about 140 police officers were assaulted. I'm sure "assaulted" is used very liberally.  But, for the sake of argument, let's say there were about 150 police at the Capitol on J6.  How many did you see on video letting people in, taking selfies or otherwise neglecting their duties?

Can't play that game. One of my main criticisms of your posts is you like to post what you guess as facts. If you know the answer, give it. What I saw, happened. You can not dispute it, well you can, but not truthfully. We see two totally different actions taking place on Jan. 6th, one very calm, one not so. We saw the police taking violent actions while just a short distance away everything was calm.  I would like to see answers for how that could happen, not play guessing games.
