Don't need to build no fire here, it's already built. Heat index of 115* yesterday. Today's forecast 107, but humidity drops a little. Should only "feel like" 112* Woo hoo.

Oh Man, I feel for ya. As a kid in the Valley growing up in Sacto, every summer was well over 100, but it was a "Dry Heat", like literally, 107, 12% humidity.
I loved summer, no fan in my room, no air, just suffer and hope you slept that night.

I never really knew what humid hot was till I was stationed in Augusta Georgia, where 100 deg, and the humidity was in the 90 percentile range.
One of the reasons I moved to the Sierra Nevada mountains where summer humidity can literally hit 1%.
I'm no kid anymore, I prefer cold, but this is probably one of the coldest summers on record. But I won't bitch, I'm loving this extended Spring.

Hope your heat wave breaks soon, but it looks like the south is in for an interesting string of events.

We expect this in July/ August. Not so bad then, the humidity is way lower. June's just a little early. Called it quits for the day and it's only 1:30. Wife's gonna dock my pay if I keep this up.

We didn't have air conditioning going up. Were we tougher or dumber? Maybe both.  I know one thing, I really appreciate winter.

My dads attitude was go outside and swim or something, I work my ass of in this heat, and the last thing I'm doing is paying for you God Damn kids to sit on your ass and watch TV.

I think all the parents conspired on this. :bigl  :bigl  :bigl

Damn are we related?     Wild ass guess, your parents went thru the depression? Mine did and it affected many of their decisions up until they died. They spent very little and thru nothing away.  It took a while, but I did learn from them. Just put up a 10'x40' three sided barn, on the three sides used old roofing metal 100 years old. Lots of patina on that old metal.   Glad that part is done, that metal gets hot.

Yep, they were married and just striking out to start a new family, and if not for the depression, I'd probably be in my 80s now.
It's because of their frugalness that I never used credit, they taught me, if you can't pay for it, then you will just have to work harder for it.

Good for you and the barn, when it's done, someone in 100 years will look back in envy.

This will be next weeks Snooze!!!
A hurricane is beelining its way to my area, and yes, I'm looking forward to the heavy expected rains.
Happened only once in recorded history, which doesn't say much considering we've only kept records since the mid 1800s.
In the 1930s it happened, and it was a Hell of a soaker.

Solar, just a quick thanks for telling us about starlink. Finally got my package the other day and got it installed this morning. Can not believe the difference in speed. WOW! And I hear it will continue to gain speed as it gets used to what ever it is that computers get used to.

Typical Texas hill country weather. Long periods of drought and last night over six " of rain. Soon as the creek goes down I'll check the water gaps and the tanks to see how much water they got. Hope I can remember how to do that.

Same here. This one was spread out over ten hours so the water table should rise and keep the creek running. The water gaps are still up, just full of debris. I'll clean it off tomorrow. Dogs are happy happy. Water everywhere. Can't keep them out of it. Soon as Trump is back in office, I'll be that happy too.   Love walking the pasture after a good rain.

No doubt, things are looking up, everywhere.

I'm expecting a deluge of a winter, with a above average snowpack, then rain hitting it, we may see contentious flooding in the valley.
I say contentious because the Marxists will claim AGW, when in fact, it's part of our normal cycle.

Just like your area, sometimes it's dry and hot, while other times are cool and wet. Normal people call it "Seasons".
