Luckily, our dogs only go where we go, so most of their time is spent hanging out at the top by the house.
They're brave, but not stupid.    

The temp was close, but more like 45, I think it picks up the heat from the Doug fir.

It's 63 as I type, calling for another day of thunder storms.
I'm good with that, summer will be starting in July. Weirdest weather in 3 decades, and I'm loving it.

By the way, that's the first lion sighting of the year and I'm sure there will be many more.

When you say that is the first this year, where do they winter? I've never seen a lion in the wild. Heard one a long time ago on a camping trip around the Big Bend area, made the hair on my neck stand up. Do you get to hear them often or is that pretty much a mating season only?

We're "only" up to 94, probably won't hit a hundred until around 4 or 5. We're expecting 106 thursday, but who knows. The only idiots bigger than the liberals, ok right below the liberals, are those who predict the weather. they keep telling us we will have a wet fall and winter, and I keep calling them dumbass.

Heard one argue with a bear over a cave, short argument, but that was decades ago, the lion backed the bear down, apparently it was over the lions kill.
But usually they are quiet and hunt primarily at night, and they really don't winter anywhere, they just follow the herd, like deer etc.

Going to be an interesting winter, that's for sure and I'm looking forward to the deluge here in the West.
This guy has been pretty spot on, though he doesn't do local weather.

If you watch, you'll see a BluJay follow the lynx around squawking like a hawk would sound, though not a good impression, but it's the best he can do to ward off the threat while warning others of its presence.

Whenever we hear the birds going crazy we start looking, usually an owl or snake, but once in a while a bobcat. Crows really hate the owls.

Yep, I generally keep an ear out to what the forest is talking about, it can keep you out of trouble.

We've literally been cold since Spring began, should hit our first upper 80s this Friday.
And 90s July 1st. Been a great year so far.

She literally walks the forest just like we do, fearless in knowing we are the top of the food chain.
Alone? We wouldn't stand a chance unarmed, but two GSD willing to lay their lives on the line gives us the advantage.

No way in Hell would I ever walk the forest alone unarmed or without my dogs. It's just something you live with.
