Don't think DeSantis has a bit of control issues? Don't see this as the making of a fascist? Look it up yourself, Florida Senate Bill 1616.

Quote from: WMK on May 17, 2023, 04:15:00 PMDeSantis already laid out the 'blueprint';
Let's see it.

QuoteWhen elected, he wasn't shy about getting rid of people who're gonna be a problem. Just look at the firings and hiring he made across the board. Even did so with many of former Gov.Scott's choices.  He understood the tenet of choosing team players who shared his positions.

There is not a elected office out there where the new guy do not replace people with his own. Not even a nice try.

QuoteWhen it comes to the Houses, hostile or otherwise, DeSantis already has the advantage and experience of being in that arena both as Gov. & as a Congressman.
He knows and understands what leverage all the 'players' have, and how they can be maneuvered as much as possible.

OK, where has he worked with these hostile congresses? Let me give you a hint, he hasn't.

QuoteAs for DeSantis & China, he knows exactly who they are and already taken what action he could as gov.

Ok, probably in that blueprint you're going to post for us.

Quote"Ron DeSantis regards China as a "hostile country", and he came up with many policies to contain Chinese influence.[9] For example, DeSantis signed legislation banning Confucius Institutes (cultural centers funded by the Chinese government) from Florida's public universities. He also signed a law increasing penalties for corporate espionage conducted on behalf of foreign entities.[10] DeSantis also stated that Chinese investors making a large amount of real estate investments in the state is not in Florida's best interest."  That's how you deal with china from the 'inside-out'. Protect the homeland, first.

You have said nothing, typical. So all he has done is signed laws that a friendly congress passed and in your mind that has prepared him for the world's stage.

QuoteSo, with DeSantis or Trump, there general records are there for all to see.

Actually, Trump is the only one with a record. His foreign policy set America first, as it should be.

It's not who supports DeSantis or Trump. It's who they throw their support to that matters. How can anyone control who supports them? Big donors are known to throw money on both sides of the aisle. Ask Trump, he played that game regularly.

Still running away from Florida Senate Bill 1616, I see!

Here's another to chew on as you ignore DeSantis' connections to the RINO Establishment!

The Republican pollster Ryan Tyson, who is expected to be the political director of Gov. Ron DeSantis' presumptive presidential bid, was deeply enmeshed in a major Florida political-corruption scandal that has resulted in criminal charges for five people, two of whom have been convicted.

At the center of the scandal are "ghost candidates" — those drafted to run purely to siphon votes from an opposing party in close races.

After receiving money from a nonprofit affiliated with the Florida Chamber of Commerce, Tyson funneled $600,000 to a dark-money group, Grow United, that supported three ghost candidates running for Florida's Senate, according to court records. The candidates had no political experience and did not campaign. One candidate was paid $44,000 to run.

If you really want to know, he's got a book out projecting his blueprint. Why not hear it from the horse's mouth?  Want the name of the book? Either that or read what's available to the public - his achievements/record as Gov.
QuoteThere is not a elected office out there where the new guy do not replace people with his own. Not even a nice try.

Hmm. Tell that to Birx & Fauci just for starters.
QuoteOK, where has he worked with these hostile congresses? Let me give you a hint, he hasn't.
He hasn't. Not as Gov. But in that respect, you're comparing a 'nonstarter' to a 'failed finisher.' Trump failed miserably there. Give me the new guy.
QuoteOk, probably in that blueprint you're going to post for us.
Gave you some good leads up top.
QuoteYou have said nothing, typical. So all he has done is signed laws that a friendly congress passed and in your mind that has prepared him for the world's stage.
No one's ever fully prepared. And trying to say having a "friendly congress" is an automatic disqualifyier sounds like 'bitter oats' because Trump already lost his battle with an "hostile congress" Time for new blood who knows how congress works, even if he's untested as POTUS IMO.

I've already said Trump did some good things on foreign policy. Advantage Trump. However, he let the country and all he achieved go to crap. Advantage DeSantis.
MAGA proved to be nothing but a catch slogan to Trump, IMO.
QuoteActually, Trump is the only one with a record. His foreign policy set America first, as it should be.
Agreed. But his domestic decisions during COVID damn near cost us dearly then, and even now in the end.

You're the one who is claiming he has a blueprint for dealing with and on the worlds stage, show it.

QuoteHmm. Tell that to Birx & Fauci just for starters. He hasn't.

Are you implying DeSantis would have fired them from day one? I really doubt that as he FOLLOWED THEIR ADVICE ON LOCKING DOWN HIS STATE, on implementing mask mandates, on implementing distancing requirements, had he been of the persuasion to fire them, why did he follow thier advice to the letter?????

QuoteNot as Gov.
Right, not as governor but as,,,,,,,,,what, pretend president?

QuoteBut in that respect, you're comparing a 'nonstarter' to a 'failed finisher.' Trump failed miserably there.

Why did DeSantis shutdown Florida. If you can not answer this question you do not know what he stands for. This tells me he wants to play both sides.

QuoteGive me the new guy.Gave you some good leads up top.No one's ever fully prepared.

And some, like DeSantis are less prepared than others.

QuoteAnd trying to say having a "friendly congress" is an automatic disqualifyier sounds like 'bitter oats' because Trump already lost his battle with an "hostile congress"

Damn you get NOTHING right. You are the one who is giving DeSantis credit for what the congress of Florida is getting done. There is no Shumer, Pelosi ETC. in the Florida congress. Had the congress in Florida been liberal do you really think THEY would have passed some of those bills you are bragging about??

QuoteTime for new blood who knows how congress works, even if he's untested as POTUS IMO.

Are you telling us he will work with the liberals in congress?? That's nothing to brag on.

QuoteI've already said Trump did some good things on foreign policy. Advantage Trump. However, he let the country and all he achieved go to crap. Advantage DeSantis.

Foreign policy, energy, stock market, jobs, dealing with China, judges, are you forgetting all of that? Ever thought that had he NOT HAD GOVERNORS SUCH AS DESANTIS WHO SHUT DOWN THEIR STATES the country would have ended the effects of the opandemic much sooner??

QuoteMAGA proved to be nothing but a catch slogan to Trump, IMO. Agreed. But his domestic decisions during COVID damn near cost us dearly then, and even now in the end.

Obviously the rest of the country does not agree with you, the country re-elected him, Biden had to pull off the steal of the century. The country is going to re-elect him again, they liked what they saw. Putting America first is what appeals to conservatives, something liberals will never understand.
