This is so true, when I went to Jr High school, I used the RIFLE RANGE in the basement (next to the fallout shelter) I used to walk to school and carried my 22 single shot over my shoulder, checked it with home room teacher in the cloak room, she held the ammo until after school when I went down stairs with several other guys unlocked the range and we fired until ammo was gone. During deer season you could do the same with a rifle or shotgun, teacher held the ammo then gave it to you so we could stop on the way home to deer hunt. I Remember at least three teacher keeping thier rifles in cases during deer season to hunt on the way home. These guys were WW2 & Korean war vets, you didnt want to mess with them armed or unarmed.
