All of the synthetic fabrics typically used in outdoor clothing are pretty much all petro chemical products. Nylon, rayon, teflon, polyesters etc. That is they are products of organic chemistry, meaning carbon based ie hydrocarbons meaning in essence OIL!

You're right, and don't forget all those new high-tech, Micro Fibers, the stuff North Face would advertise as breathable, but sheds rain... came right out of the ground.  the zippers, and let's not forget the stain & rain resistant coatings, Petroleum products.

And when they ship it to you...the label & tape & glue that holds the box together - Petroleum products.... and shipped via a carrier that moves by battery Petroleum products.

Even the orders for their goods... all that plastic in the PC, monitor, KB & mouse - just thrown away when it breaks...   Funny a RECREATIONAL company can us so much Petroleum for enjoyment..
