The one on top of the op seems like General Patton while the one in this link seems more like George Washington or Abraham Lincoln. Im leaning towards the constitution one myself, but they are both good.

I would, but it's been abased too much by too many sites already, that's why we went original.
Though I did like your very first image, that was sweet, probably the best I've ever seen.

Is there a way to use/utilize both?

Like maybe have the shot plaque be the main CPF page banner and then the flag one be just for the Politics Discussion and Debate part, or vice versa?

Well, it would be quite an undertaking, only because of the way SMF's template design functions.  The body and entire top section (that contains the header, menu, login, etc) remain static and don't change from click to click.  It is the main content section that actually changes.   I suppose you could use some sort of rotating "ad" mod and tweak it for something other than ads, but most users become annoyed with that sort of thing pretty quickly.

Theoretically, I could create some sort of hybrid of the two images.  Maybe I'll give that a stab.  I've read The Island Of Dr. Moreau; I bet I can splice something together.

Too elegant.  I like the tough one better.

Okay that site link has changed back to the metallic logo.  (The background with the flag and wood is just me, messing around, not really part of it, unless you guys decide you do want something in the background besides this gradient blue).

I'm not referring to the flag border, the metallic border, about 1" deep
