A Republic obviously.    But I don't see how voting for Donald Trump (which I did) makes much difference in this regard.   Trump has certainly been no paragon of following the Constitution.

My support was ONLY for DJT. 
Cruz is a decent guy, but has been a part of the Gooberment System for 25 years.  He is an Attorney.  Lawyers got us here.  He and Paul Ryan, a RINO extraordinaire, suggested giving fast track powers to OBOZO.  Are you kidding me?
He initially supported the TPP.  He voted against it, but first he spoke highly of it.  I remember.
While I believe in Ted, now more than before, you cannot escape the fact that it is the Attorneys Faction of Congress that Screws the Pooch, every time.  Cruz is an Attorney.  He is not a businessman.  When he graduated Harvard, he went straight into politics.  Not what I would call an Outsider. 
Look, don't get your panties is a wad.  Cruz is a good guy, and I would probably support him for a Presidential Run.  I just don't think of him as an Outsider, but rather a part of a broken system which he probably will never leave.
