What is awful about ANTIFA is that they actually believe they are doing something good, and that through their unjustifiable acts of violence, they are working to solve whatever problem they face. I don't think anyone is under the illusion that these are good people here. I've heard is said across this forum before, that these are essentially anarchists and terrorists who thrive off the power of hurting either the physical beings or livelihoods of average everyday citizens.

The decision by Trump to brand these animals as terrorists is one thing I will back him on until the day I die. There of course were legitimate protesters out there, who were upset and outraged by what they saw from that video. To use these peaceful protests as a front of execute their distorted vision of 'justice' and 'revenge' just goes to show that they do not fight for the people, they do not fight for justice. What's worse? Not a single leftists politician has condemned them. These city officials who let these people run rough shot over them, coddling them and refusing to denounce them as just as guilty as they are.

I agree! The left owns this mess, the LSM promotes it as a protest when they know that's an outright lie. The first protest was about George and Rightly so, I'd have been one of them.
But the media instantly focuses on the radical and racist element that infiltrated it, even the likes of Martina Navratilova stated she wanted to see this spread to every city in the country, and the LSM gave her a soap box to state it.

There is a lot more to this story than is being reported, though I don't want to go conspiracy, it almost looks like a setup was already in the mix, though George was not supposed to die.
I'm rambling, but wait, there's a lot being covered up at the moment and the truth will trickle out.

Oh I certainly agree. I don't like peddling in conspiracies' (unless its Jeffery Epstein) but this all seems way to convenient of an occurrence. The media has played this up. I've seen maybe ten minutes of actual reporting from the LSM on the peaceful protests. The conflation by them to lump in the vandals and the looters as being legitimate protesters, is just one of many things I hate about them. They should at least have the integrity to disclose their game here.

We heard the same thing during the Freddie Gray riots in Baltimore back in 2015. I didn't believe it then and I didn't believe it yesterday. And at least in Minneapolis and St. Paul, as it turns out, arrest records are available to show the false nature of those claims. Nearly all of the violent thugs and looters had local addresses. (Fox 9 Minneapolis)

It's easy to understand why these elected officials want to shift the blame away from their own citizens. First of all, it's a bad look, particularly when you're one of the people responsible for keeping your citizens safe and preventing this sort of carnage. It's also politically risky to go around blaming your own voters for bad behavior. If you're the leader chosen to keep things under control, admitting the problem is home-grown could cause you to spend some time looking in the mirror.

Of course, there were obviously a few people coming from out of town to cause trouble. Antifa loves to engage in precisely this sort of behavior. But if you stop and think about it, this isn't exactly a time when people are interested in hopping on a plane or going on long car rides. Even radicals must be a little bit cautious about catching the novel coronavirus, wouldn't you think?

The fact is that most large cities already have built-in contingents of people who will immediately leap into action when an "opportunity" involving massive protests comes along. They all have local contingents including Black Lives Matter and other activist groups who are ready to call for violence against the police at the drop of a hat. On top of that, there are pretty much no American cities that don't suffer from some level of gang activity and violence. Those folks aren't going to pass up an opportunity to loot everything they can lay their hands on and set a few fires to boot, just to muddy the evidence trail. And I seriously doubt most of them give a hoot about George Floyd.

What seems to be different this year is both the scale of the violence and the audacity of the rioters in the face of law enforcement.

Two Brooklyn lawyers, including an Ivy League graduate corporate attorney, are facing federal charges for tossing a Molotov cocktail into an NYPD vehicle early Saturday morning during a protest over the police killing of George Floyd.

Colinford Mattis, 32, a lawyer and member of Community Board 5 in East New York, was charged along with fellow attorney Urooj Rahman with the attempted attack on an empty police cruiser parked outside the 88th Precinct station house in Fort Greene.
