Campaign Memo Projects Trump Will Win 1,400 Delegates At GOP Convention

Donald Trump's campaign advisers believe the billionaire mogul is emerging as the "prohibitive favorite" in the Republican presidential race and project that he will accumulate more than 1,400 delegates to secure the nomination on the first round of balloting at the party's Cleveland convention, according to an internal campaign memorandum.

The projections come in a memo distributed to Trump surrogates late Tuesday night containing talking points for use in media interviews this week. The memo, obtained by The Washington Post, describes Trump's commanding win in the New York primary as "YUGE" and encourages his supporters to speak out about what Trump has described as a "rigged" process of selecting delegates for the Republican National Convention in July.

...

After Trump won plaudits Tuesday night for appearing more presidential by ditching his signature insult of Ted Cruz as "Lyin' Ted," the talking-points memo refers derisively to the Texas senator's campaign.

"The Cruz spin machine produces more lies than anything else," the memo reads. "Our projections call for us to accumulate over 1400 delegates and thus a first ballot nomination win in Cleveland."

Quick someone break it to trump that there are more delegates against him than for him. It's like real hard to get a majority when more vote against you. :scared:

And ya'll say he filed for bankruptcy?? Life is hell when you suck at math.

Yes, yet you still post it.

Are you saying the Trump campaign is going to convince delegates to come his way after getting destroyed by Hillary in his home state?  Trump proved he doesn't carry his home state in a GE.

You need to tell me, how are they going to sell it.

The only way Trump can get 1,400 delegates on the first ballot would be if Cruz does something to completely mess up between now and California. Cruz is a savvy campaigner, so I don't see that happening.

Beings that it was put out BY the trump campaign and furthered by the media proves the point that they are scared. They have to make it look like there is no hope for anyone else.. Seems after Florida all we heard was trump the projected nominee, unstoppable Trump, start calling him Mr president, win so much they were going to get sick of winning... then it all went down hill and not only did he start losing, he started losing time and again.  He wins his home state ( big shock there) and releases a memo and all of a sudden its over again....

Cruz is the feet to the grindstones kind of candidate, takes nothing for granted and works for each and every vote.  He wont mess it up.

Was this prediction before or after New York... or Wisconsin... or Colorado, Wyoming, Iowa - geeze, I can't keep up with all these predictions, they're as accurate as what he's saying about Ted.

Digging into the NY results there are a couple of things that make the results not all that impressive. First, there were less than one million votes in the republican primary. Secondly, the only district Trump did not carry was his home Manhattan district. Frm the MSM one would think Trump just flew in with a red S on his chest.

Kasish carried Manhattan - where people know Donald Trump the best, he lost to the lowest rated candidate.
After the MSM gets finished crafting Trump into a super-candidate, he'll know they own him.  His neighbors rejected him out-of-hand, maybe they know what he's made of better than anyone else?

- Over a 120,000 conservative party candidates could not vote in the primary
- The fallacy of Trump winning New York if the nominee in the general is thoroughly debunked
- Cruz had more votes in Wisconsin the Trump got in New York.
- Romney had more votes in New York in 2012 than Trump did.
