Adam Smith  (our generation's Adam Smith, not the colonial) wrote a book called
Super Currency, in which he argued that common stocks could be a good place to have
money during hyper inflationary times, because the value of the certificates would rise
due to inflation.
       That could be one simple explanation for the market's constant rising.  In other words,
Democrats tell their followers that things are going great, just look at the Dow.  Followers
don't think that should  the Dow goes to 40,000 they won't be able to afford a car. Luddites
win.
