This story has been floating around the web since this morning -- that Rush Limbaugh is proceeding with a lawsuit against the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee for defamation of character and/or slander. It all stems from remarks Rush made on the radio with regard to some new super-PC rules put out by The Ohio State University regarding the epidemic of campus rape that isn't happening. The DCCC took his remarks out of context and selectively edited them to make it sound as though Rush was advocating rape.

PJ Tatler has a pretty good quickie write-up with links. A snippet:

QuoteDefamation of a public figure is usually tough for plaintiffs to win, but the Democrats may have made Limbaugh's case here easy. They had clear motive to defame him, they have defamed him repeatedly in the past, and it's beyond reason to believe that they truly believed that he was really advocating for tolerance of rape. They might be able to build their case on stupidity, but ignorance won't work. Democrats have been trying to destroy Rush Limbaugh for decades now.

Discovery is going to be fascinating.

Having to apologize to Limbaugh, or pay damages, after Tuesday's drubbing, would be sugar on top of the cherry on top of the whip cream on the ice cream Sunday.

As PJMedia's Instapundit Glenn Reynolds pointed out, every $ the Ds spend defending against this lawsuit is a $ not spent attacking Rs.

This lawsuit could have a very good chance of success. The falseness of the slanderous claim is grossly obvious and the timing may of themselves prove the malice necessary for a public figure to be successful in a defamation lawsuit. Slimy outfits like ThinkProgress and Media Matters for America have been pulling this kind of @#$% for years. I hope one or both of them are pulled into this, as the sources of the DCCC's slander.

IMO, the Ds and their abettors got arrogant and complacent over their imagined impunity, and Rush looks to be about to try to administer a well-deserved and long overdue slap-down.

Now this is what I'm eternally and infernally talking about.

Just once, make them pay for their lying and cheating.

All we've done so far is give them heap big gains for it, and encouragement to never stop or even slow it.

And this is a big one.  Rush with the bucks to wear these clowns down.  And the context to claim millions in lost revenues or potential.

I just wish that he'd sued the NFL and all the people involved, for the baseless claims of racism, that led the NFL to do a pre-emptive-Sterling to him.  He could easily have said "hey, I could have made 2-300 million profit just like Jerry Johnson, et al...........now that you deprived me of it, give it here".

Made me so damned mad when he meekly walked away from that.  For that matter, Sterling too.  Yet you have retrobates like Rice and Peterson fighting back against their "injustices" lol.

Oh, they will never apologize - especially not to Rush! I say sue them for every penny they have!

How funny would it be if Limbaugh ended up owning the DCCC!

His attorney was interviewed by Sean Hannity last night.

She seems to think they have a case!

I say - GO Rush!
