As a long time straight republican voter and a public worker I was confronted with a new GOP a far right teaparty GOP who has done nothing but attack the working class endlessly and blame them for all the debt woes. They believe no one should have a pension or benefits, they believe there should be no medicare or social security, they believe corporations should have tax cuts and subsidies and NO REGULATIONS and The rich should have deep tax cuts and the working class should have their pay cut because they make to much.
   Since the teaparty won a few elections not a single utterance about Illegal immigration that is killing our country costing us billions upon billions of dollars. Just attacks on the working class AMERICANS...no talk about cutting programs for the bums or foriegn aid...just cut public workers throats..blame public workers for all our woes.
   
    So my new choice is...im against abortion, so what theyve been aborting babies since roe vs wade nonstop and the teaparty isnt interested in that only attacking the working class...Gay marriage im against it, teaparty isnt interested in that doesnt mention it..just attacks the working class...everything the democrats have been for that ive been against doesnt seem to bother the teaparty they focus and goal is to crucify the working class for the benefit of the rich as i see it.
  So my choice became clear to me...the teaparty is not for me they are totally against me.
    Then on conservative forums..<more than 1> all ive heard and read for weeks is that im considered a piece of shit by fellow conservatives because I was a public worker...Im lazy, I do nothing, I was overpaid my entire 27 yrs I was a worthless piece of shit and a leech on all the poor conservatives out there. The arpad types relentlessly attack the working class public and private in post after post and specifically the police which is another subject the all knowing knows ALL about....my decision became crystal clear...the teaparty and people that hide behind the word conservative so they can treat others like dogs are not for me...and I do not want to be a part of it anymore....MY vote for a democrat will negate an arpad vote..
   You people helped make me feel this way...and the Bloated Loud mouth Christie and the walkers and the bachmans...and the rest of them....and if you think im the only one then you all need to stop oohhhhrahhing arpad when he posts that workers suck and they cause of black holes in the universe and still born babies.. and start paying attention to someone that acutally knows something.

   Were not illegal immigrants...were not alqueda, were AMERICANS...working americans....and we were not responsible for the debt were in.

So as much as I want to stay out of this....  I am a government employee - County.  Do I make a good salary?  It is enough that as a single woman in California I could afford to buy a house by myself.   In the private sector my job would make less in most situations but I am the type of person who goes above and beyond what my job calls for and always have.  Management respects me and knows I am one of those go to people.  So do I think I am worth what I am paid - yes.

I am unrepresented - I have no Union watching my back or filing grievances for petty things.  I am not forced to pay dues to people who do not share my opinion and who support people and ideas that are not my own.  For that I am thankful.

I have watched the Unions refuse to do their part to help during tough years (and its getting tougher every year).  The big ones, UPE and SEIU, just 2 years ago refused to waive their COLA's or participate in a one day a month furlough.  It was Management, Unrepresented, and a handful of small groups who did.  We did it to help save our fellow workers jobs.  These Unions preferred to see lay offs of their employees, why not since most of the people on the Board for these unions hold seniority it wasn't their jobs that would be affected.  Having worked in Internal Security for our office I can say I have about as must respect for Union Shop Stewards/Board members as I have for ambulance chasing attorneys.

Although a lot of people here are agreeing it is not so much the workers as it is the union management who are wrong we must remember who voted to put the Board members in place - the workers.

Zip, while you were on the government dole, who did you work for? Wasn't it the taxpayers?

You have also said you are wealthy. Were you on the take?

But here is the problem, you have blinders on, what you see is not reality, none of what you said is based in reality.

And one other point, he is not attacking the workers, he is trying to get the Unions to be reasonable, he is trying to get the Dims to come back to the State, you know, those guys that tucked tail and ran, rather than face reality, a reality of a mess that they created.
And now that reality is in their face, they caused the worker to be in a position of being laid off.

Which raises another point, if the State can get by with 1500 less workers, does that not tell you that the Gov is bloated, that many of these jobs are jobs that were created for the sake of expanding government?
