Video footage shows the executive director of the Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers, Richard Masten, eating possible evidence to protect an anonymous tipster. He faces up to two weeks in jail for contempt of court.

A retired police chief crossed a Florida judge by eating a piece of paper to protect the identity of an anonymous tipster.

The judge demanded the paper containing the tip, but Richard Masten, now the executive director of the Miami-Dade Crime Stoppers, said no.

Masten tore the precious notes into strips, shoved the dry bits into his mouth and chewed them with his mouth open as a television crew watched.

This happened in front of live cameras, meaning that idiot judge must have WANTED that snitch dead within hours after this retired chief's testimony (had he actually divulged the name).

It's safe to assume the tipster was tested more than once and this chief believed his veracity (and sources of information) made a jail stretch worth that impromptu meal.

Good on him. Next time tell that dumbass judge, ask this stuff in chambers where it doesn't leak out nearly so fast. That way your tipster has time to pack and leave town before whoever he's betraying can go pay a sendoff visit.

Yes, good for this guy, he is protecting those that are willing to speak out when a crime has happened, but the judge is doing exactly what Obozo did with the IRS, using the power of Govt to shut down dissenting voices.

Think Snowden.
