What's the motherland?  Isn't PA, MA, NY, ETC. the FATHERLAND--(no mothers were able to do shit back then),
where we LANDED, wrote the Declaration, the Constitution and where they 'fathers' established the DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA the 'governmental' nerve center of the country??  SOUNDS LIKE THE MOTHER/FATHER Land to me!
