Here's a story from the "what the f... don't they have something useful to do??!!" department. The federal government, in the form of the FTC, has come down on an association of private piano teachers for attempting to discourage competition... or something. I thought the Gibson guitar story was bizarre. This one is WAY past that one.

I wanted to quote a snip from this article, but I can't pick anything short that will give you the idea. Please take the time to read the whole WSJ article.

I am. I have been driving the same mahogany upright piano for years...

You can't teach piano to kids on an upright!  You have to use, and the kids deserve to learn on, a grand.
