It's been oh so much fun around here.  Flooding rains, hail, sleet, snow. Yaaay :glare:.   Today we are going into our own flood zone.  Himself went down Tuesday to clear out everything. The camper came home and is currently in the front. I will be taking pics and bringing it to the police dept for proof here is the only place we have to put it until we can get back in.  I started looking and doing what I do when I heard of the storms coming. Some at our place didnt,,,they lost.  Either they, what we call rolled the dice or in some cases  couldn't get their stuff out.  All over the entire Chicago area is massive flooding.  In (sp) Marsalles, Il they have 9 barges that broke lose and slinked up against the dam there, some have sunk, others float, meanwhile to relieve the pressure they open it and flooded out 1500 homes. I-80, RT55,53 and other main roads shut down from water, massive waters.   In my little section of the world,,,at the river,,, it took less then a day for the water to flush up to bout 10' high over the land. and pretty much cover a good 90% of us. Downriver the homes along the river are yesterday able to get in, today they will begin scraping mud and whatever else... today we are going down to see just how much we have to do.  Granted it did not get into our cabin.... and only 5 campers were destroyed or taken.
Hopefully I can load up some pics,,,,,
I'll let ya know.

Update,,,, we have been alittle busy with flood stuff and can only get to our place on the weekends. We surely did luck out thats for sure.  Granted the driveway was washed out and made a lovely sand/gravel bar on our neighbor to the rights spot,,, the downstairs fridge we use for bait and beer ended up at the base of the stairs between the handrails. Lost the cabinets downstairs, thats why the fridge floated, the tv that was downstairs left also.  We have to redo all the pavers under the cabin, thats not going to be fun as we have a 3' pile of sand and gravel where they used to be,,,the flagstone got wrecked,,it went from the drive to the firepit and around that.  We have 4 skids of new flagstone to replace the ones that washed away. Meanwhile we have lovely veins of sand or a mix going thru the lawn... that all has to be gone so the grass can come back up.  The worst part is going to be redoing the pavers,,, once that is done the flagstone will be a cake walk, all in all I am thinking about 2 months max weekends only, well unless we can toss a crew day down there for fill time.  Then again we are gettin busy so who's to say.
Meanwhile,, its party flier time and those start the 22 of June.  HImself b-day is Mothers Day, so we will only have Saturday to do more work on the pavers ,lol... I'll clean and disinfect the downstairs bathroom again(3rd time) while he is laying the pavers then I'll start filling them with sand, thats my job, well and scrapin mud off the old ones,lol...
Throw in a couple of nasty dental procedures and  the non stop of everyday and well I've just been a wee bit overwhelmed......
and its raining again......
