Is my math right? Ray LaHood wants us to pony up billions to tackle a problem I didn't even know we had. It accounts for a whopping 3/10 of a percent of accidental deaths in the US. And the proposed solution -- backup cameras -- are projected to eliminate "nearly half" of those deaths.

Bout time, and I want rubber bath tubs, and I want foam side walks so no one gets hurt when they fall down, in fact, I want cars to weigh less than a bicycle, that way no one gets hurt when an SUV takes over and attacks people.

Gov needs to do more about keeping us safe, they either need to make the ocean shallow, or put up a fence on all beaches, too many people drown from their own stupidity.

Help us Gov, were simply to stupid to live.

It's probably going to include a looped memory system that records over say a 5-minute continuous track. Insurance companies will DEMAND it if the cars are equipped with it, so they can prove or disprove the cause of any accident they'd have to pay out for.

Then there's the OTHER black-box technology going into cars built by Government Motors.  Were you speeding? The cops will ultimately know, just by checking output from that unit.

That one has been in play for several years now.
I read of a case years ago where the DA subpoenaed the computer from the car, seeing how it remembers the last several minutes of information.

Car manufacturers use it to void your warranty, go over the max speed during break in, and they will use it to deny warranty service.

Has anybody ever thought about telling these government regulators "NO!"? 

What the hell is the government going to do about it?  Close down all of the car manufacturers in this country and put tens of thousands of people out of work because the car companies refuse to put backup cameras on their vehicles?  I doubt it.

Enough is enough.  JUST SAY NO!

Since the gov is cutting the budget, but still wants to run our lives, they will not be spending money on foam sidewalks, but rather they will mandate that we all purchase foam suits to wear when in public.

They found they could do this after forcing the HC on the public, setting precedent, they now have a new found power to force us to buy anything this can dream up.

Yeah, I know its far fetched, but they have opened a can of worms with Obamacare.

There are many things in the obamacare law that are yet to be exposed that have nothing to do with healthcare.  ::)
