On weekends I like to experiment with different things. I have time to cook and am not racing against the clock. So today I made Parmesan Chicken with mushrooms and white wine sauce. But for me what stole the show was a new vegetable I bought at the store.

Steamed it up with some asparagus and it was a really great combination. Plus I love the look of this stuff.

LOL she likes that also.
My wife's mom calls it broccoli-flower.
I have made a Tempura out of it, by mixing "Carbquik"(a low carb product similar to Bisquik) and water. Put a dozen or so ice cubes in the batter. 360 degree deep fry oil. I use peanut oil for the extra nuttiness. Slowly ease the battered florets into the oil. Fry until golden. Drain on Paper Towels. Salt to taste, while freshly out of the oil. Delicioso.
