Title: Anyone start their indor seeds yet?
Post by: The Stranger on March 07, 2013, 10:16:26 AM
I will be starting this week sometime. Last yr I was paying 12-15 $ for flats, just to much. Have my own soil and plenty of plastic starters so this yr I will do my own.
A few different kinds of tomatoes, peppers, eggplant. Most everything else starts outside.

It probably would be if this eas an average year, HG has an indoor greenhouse that we start our onions, peppers, tomatoes, and broccoli in.  I haven't cleaned the window area for him to put it up yet.  :tounge:

The last few yrs I've been planting sweet potatoes here at home and they have been awesome. Up on another piece of property we planted the little red potatoes and we just finished them a few weeks ago.

For years, I've tried to start my own, only to have thin spindly shoots, or planted them too soon or too late.  Always a disaster.

Finally.  Last year.  I started them.  Got great growth.  Everything was going good.

Then my friggin cat got into them, ruined them all.

Never again.  I'll pay our local greenhouse for now on.

Our cat (one of them) likes our onion shoots and broccoli seedlings.  Every year she requires an "attitude adjustment" when she treats the greenhouse as her salad bar.  :cursing:
