Title: Subaru Sotrerra (electric) discounted at my local dealer
Post by: Sick Of Silence on January 19, 2025, 02:16:54 PM
I noticed that the dealer where I bought my Subaru has discounted the electric Solterra $19K to $20K off of the sticker price.

I heard they had trouble with charging via the engine, it's too small to do the job, it was damaging the alternator.
Wanna bet they drop this altogether?

Just a wild ass guess, the makers of electric vehicles have lost their sugar daddy in the government and will need to unload their inventory before it rusts through.

My only experience with electric cars was back in August. My neighbor has one. Coming home the battery died in front of our house. I saw the car sitting there, went up to see if I could help. He was too far to push, he lives about a half mile away, so I offered the use of my car hauler. Seems that he put it in park, and with a dead battery it would not shift into neutral so no way to load it. Took a couple of HOURS to get it charged up enough to get him home off a generator.

Think about the poor souls who have EV's. When they admit their purchase was a bad decision their EV will have zero value except for salvage.

There may be an all electric version, but they went with a hybrid failure as well.
