Title: At What Point Is THe Line Drawn?
Post by: Solar on July 09, 2012, 06:38:49 AM
It's all about profit and mkt share, but at what point do we say, "enough is enough"?
It's not like Playboy, where there is an age limit for viewing, little kids see these ads, particularly little girls.
Is this really necessary? I say boycott these products, then again, I doubt anyone on this forum has ever tried them, let alone, heard of them.

I'm going to go way out on a limb and say the men's cologne and the Dolce and Gabbana ad are appealing to two vastly different male demographics...

As for me, the fanciest brand I wear is Polo.

Fruit of The Loom Tees here.

Polo's are too rich for my blood.

I guess I'm a bit unique, in that I don't fall for fluff and fashion, I tend to dress for comfort, I don't feel a need to impress anyone, clothes do not make the man.
But what bugged me about these ads, is that they wind up in zines that always find their way into places most parents never consider.

Mother waiting in the doctors office, say's to her young daughter, "Here honey, look at these zines while mommy sees the doctor."
Maybe I'm a prude, but it seems we no longer have any standards.

Who regulates these things, the FCC? You hear the news make big deals about TV spots all the time, but who, if anyone, is regulating print ads?

More importantly, who's sitting in the editing department at these mags approving these ads? Or do they really think their readership consists of the kind of people who attend coke parties and *shudder* high-end male exhibitionist expos?

Some of the last three younger generation is going to hell in a handbasket.  One day at a time. Not to mention the ones before that.

Honestly I don't think anyone is overseeing what goes into print.

I hate cologne. Clothes come from the sale rack at Walmart.

Yeah. It's over the top. Part of the reason the TV stays dark around here most of the time.

It's just another sign of liberalism run amok. Do what feels good now. It's why kids as young as 11 and 12 are having sex. When I was that age, boys and girls didn't even like each other. Liberals are a blight on all of society.

If these print ads are in grown up magazines, it's called free speech. Liberals try to bring it as close to pornography as they possibly can.

Tom Ford seems to know where I'd go to find my happy spot.  :tounge: :tounge: :tounge:

The Sisley shot is just two weird sluts who aren't really sure why they're there.

Dolce & Gabanna? Gotcha & Yowanna. Porkya and Iwanna. Pink princes pounding posteriors. Perfect.
