Actually, the Canadians at the table thought it was hilarious. If the USA were to join Canada, that would give us 50 more provinces. Canada can't join the US because it would be Constitutionally impossible. The office of Canada's Head of State is pretty much carved in stone. That part of the constitution cannot be amended. If it could, then the US would get thirteen more states (that is how many provinces and territories we have) and at least ten of them would vote democrat, so it would be a disaster for the US.
The other problem for the US is politics is Canada's national sport and we are better at it than any other country in the world. In ten years, we would end up running the place.
Trivia note: Warren Harding was in Canada when Teapot Dome scandal broke. At the same time he got food poisoning. On the ship taking him back to the US, the ship hit a terrible storm. When his valet went to the President's stateroom, he found President Harding on his knees, praying "I hope it sinks, I hope it sinks."
The only statue of Warren Harding in the world is in Stanley Park in Vancouver, BC.

Turdeau didn't see the humor, and that's who the joke was aimed at.

I love your innocence and ignorance of human history.

Silly kid, the conquered have no say in their own future.

You only have the illusion of power and voice, and Quite self important, aren't they? That's why you're still Constitutional monarchy, meaning the those of money and power allow you a realm of legerdemain, it's literally Democracy epitomized, those in power convince you, the supposed majority of what you want, then poll you so you think you actually had a say in what they told you to think!

This, from the guy who has a full blown communist dictator son as the puppet leader.

Yeah, and the Wizard of OZ was a documentary.
You'll believe anything they teach you, won't you, as long as it came from a Govt indoctrination center.
You were played!!! What in the Hell makes you think we'd let you join the US? You've made for a great distraction for centuries.
Nobody here is worried. One of President Trump's strongest virtues is he is smart enough not to go to war.

I love the photo of President elect Trump standing on the mountain top staring at the mountain peak in the distance. It is a lovely spot. I honeymooned there. It is Canada's 14th province called Switzerland. The peak is the Matterhorn.

No wonder you're so misinformed, you read MSN?
Couldn't you just post the image instead of helping them with clicks?

It would be the easiest conquer in history. Trump would say "you become our 51st state, or you no longer get to cross the border to use our health care system, and you'll be stuck with what you have."
They'd literally lay down and roll over onto their backs with their legs up sticking up.

Not even remotely. We'd just buy you from China.
