All 371 locations of the 99 Cents Only stores are shutting down, with company executives blaming the "difficult" decision on such causes as "inflationary pressures."

The company, which opened its first location in 1982, boasts of having the "lowest price guaranteed" on its website. That claim is soon to be no more, with the operators announcing Thursday that liquidation sales will begin Friday.

An official press release said an "orderly wind-down of its business operations" is starting after entering a plea agreement with Hilco Global "to, among other things, liquidate all merchandise owned by the Company and dispose of certain fixtures, furnishings, and equipment at the Company's stores."

Things are not under a dollar anymore. This hurts poor people the most.

Why the left thought killing the economy was a good idea, boggles my mind.
Did no one ever tell them that, undoing undoing everything trump did, might just be a really stupid idea?

Dollar Tree stores, where (almost) every item is priced at $1,
is now pricing (almost) every item at $1.25.

Dollar Tree just bought Family Dollar Stores.
Family Dollar is similar to Dollar General stores,
except Family Dollar has expanded into only about half the country,
where Dollar General has managed to expand nationwide.

Family Dollar now has a few aisles of
Dollar Tree merchandise and branding in every store.
Even so, many Family Dollar stores are being closed
when their leases expire.
