neph tells me there would be four or five dogs truckin down the road in SA and out of nowhere a Mercedes Benz with four or five Saudi women would come scorching around the passing lane, slow down while they, smiling, giggling, waving, hooting, while pulling back their veils in their way of  flashing  the  USA boys, burning up the road in Daddy's MB.

Times have definitely changed in Saudi.  When I was there the women road in the back of their husband's pick up truck when they went to town.  Sometimes they would have a goat in the cab of the truck with them.  But women always in the back of the pickup.  ....... usually two or three wives back there!

Remember the good ol' days when American-women docked space-shuttles at the International Space Station, then redeployed the crafts and piloted them back for safe-landings on Earth's surface ?

I've known a few middle eastern women (with money) and they are not shrinking violets.

That is true, Dori......... but..... they did not live in Saudi did they?

I didn't think so.

I had my own driver in muslim Indonesia.... who was a muslim.

However, that was not a real option in Saudi.

Was anyone here at home pissed off that our fellow comrades in arms, couldn't drive because they were women? I know my SGT (female) was insensed that they told her not to do so while there.

At the time, I was really young though, (19 and a half or 20 can't remember which) so I didn't see what the big deal really was.

Now that I'm much older, I can understand why she, and other women in the States would be "displeased" to say the least.

But, what was the reaction to that here at home? Were people mad as hell about that? Where NOW marching in the streets?

Did they have a million lesbian march on Washington D.C. over it?

Where is the outrage from the liberal women's rights crowd? Their silence is deafening.
