Government officials, reacting to the growing voice of conservative news outlets, especially on the internet, are angling to curtail the media's exemption from federal election laws governing political organizations, a potentially chilling intervention that the chairman of the Federal Election Commission is vowing to fight.

"I think that there are impulses in the government every day to second guess and look into the editorial decisions of conservative publishers," warned Federal Election Commission Chairman Lee E. Goodman in an interview.

"The right has begun to break the left's media monopoly, particularly through new media outlets like the internet, and I sense that some on the left are starting to rethink the breadth of the media exemption and internet communications," he added.

After Obama gave away Internet control to non-U.S. entities, it will not be long before American free speech becomes instantly censored to conform to standards not of U.S. making. (For example, any hint of Muslim violence or Islam's barbaric treatment of women and girls, just to name one area.)

Global warming skeptics of course will be fined and punished. And the anti-vegetarians. God save religious people, because Christianity is an insult to those same foreigners. If you're not an atheist, don't expect much bandwidth, if at all.

A final thought: foreigners will demand real-name ID of all posts made.

Let's hear it for Obama's internet......  :cursing:

Ohhhh, the FCC is stymied, so the FEC's gonna reign-in the applecart-upsetters, eh?

Goodman's a twerpish schlumpf in a fool's paradise.  The cat's already outta the bag.  I guess he never heard of social-networking sites that link people all over the place.  They can press tabs on some sites and receive daily info sent to their email-boxes.

An inordinate number of whistle blower anti authoritarian, anti one world You Tube videos,  (that includes Islam Awareness,)   and there are some beauties, will not display on my machines.

You knew it would come to this.

If and when the GOP controls both House and Senate, they can DRASTICALLY cut the FEC's budget.

I'd say I was shocked, but they're Marxists about to be tossed on the pyre of failed polity, so it really is no surprise to see them use every govt agency at their disposal to destroy their enemy and denude it's abilities, (the American people) to speak in protest.
What next, a loyalty test for voting?

They are doing what they tried to do with radio, typical dem tactic, if you cant win, regulate .
The nine most terrifying words in the English language are, 'I'm from the government and I'm here to help.'

By controlling network news and most of the print media, liberals dominated the national conversation for decades.

Now the control is evaporating and everyone sees the Left as the liars they are.

"can" is true.  "Will"?  I have my doubts.

"Will" was the tragedy of Bill Frist in 2005.

But you can bet the farm that Harry Reid would not stand for cuts in appropriations.
