Quote from: patentlymn on June 25, 2025, 12:09:10 PMI recall China has lots of robots to compete with foreign labor costs. There is lots of cheap labor in the center of and west of China.

Steve Jobs told Obama that Apple built its new glass plants in China thanks to US govt regulations and delays, not labor costs.

The countries with the highest absolute numbers of industrial robots (total installations) are:
China: ~1.7 million robots (2023). Largest manufacturing hub, with massive adoption in electronics, automotive, and government-driven automation.

Japan: ~393,000 robots (2022). Major robot producer, with heavy use in automotive and electronics industries.

United States: ~293,000 robots (2022). Significant automation in automotive, logistics, and general manufacturing.

South Korea: ~280,000 robots (2022). High robot density, with extensive use in electronics (e.g., Samsung) and automotive (e.g., Hyundai).

Germany: ~240,000 robots (2022). Europe's leader, with strong presence in automotive and industrial machinery.

The countries with the highest number of industrial robots, based on robot density (robots per 10,000 manufacturing employees), are:
South Korea: 1,012 robots per 10,000 employees (2022). Leading due to heavy automation in electronics and automotive industries (e.g., Samsung, Hyundai).

Singapore: 730 robots per 10,000 employees (2022). Dominated by the electronics sector, with 90% of robots in this industry.

China: 470 robots per 10,000 employees (2023). The largest absolute number of robots (1.7 million), driven by massive manufacturing and government support.

Germany: 429 robots per 10,000 employees (2023). Europe's automation leader, with strong adoption in automotive and machinery sectors.

Japan: 419 robots per 10,000 employees (2023). A major robot manufacturer, with high density in automotive and electronics industries.

AI is not just about robots. Here is one big difference, people tell robots what to do, one small part of AI will be it will make decisions for the people. It will be able to do the managers job as well as the workers job. It will lower costs from the top to the bottom.

If AI lives up to the pre hype, it will affect how businesses run from manufacturing to the Dow jones. Picture another Industrial Revolution.

Never underestimate the human factor. There will be somewhat of a revolt; people don't like corporations as it is, so replacing human workers is replacing humanity. There will be pushback all across the board.
Sure, cars and appliances are one thing, but when it comes to human interaction, people will simply not do business with them.

Expect to see a growing market of handmade products.
