The Poles are starting to worry  about Russia  again.

Hoofer

Poland... where's that again?   Maybe we need to start emailing the Pols WW2 era maps as a reminder?

If I was younger, I'd literally move to Poland.

Poland has a lengthy history, dating from the Iron Age and was a unified
nation/state having a distinct culture/society, as early as the Medieval Ages.
Its geography, between Prussia, Russia and others, created problems, often
making it a target down thru history.
Nevertheless its contributions in Art (Classical Music) and Science (Marie Curie),
remain world ranking.

The best & smartest engineers I know & grew up around - are all from Poland.
Milwaukee is loaded with them, just packed with innovators.

Some of the best weekends were spent entertaining them, picking their brains for ideas, and doing all kinds of crazy projects...  I'd start building a beer cooler / tapper, out of an old Fridge, and within an hour, 3-4 of these guys would be "advising me" or dragging out their tools to "make it right".   We'd wind up grilling for them - weekend after weekend, project after project.  They LOVED to design & build stuff.

Don't know if that work ethic exists today... hope it does.

I remember visiting Gdansk on a cruise a few years ago. The tour guide made it clear the feelings the Poles had for the Russian communists.
