Quote from: LegalAmerican on June 17, 2018, 03:32:30 AMVietnam war. My fiancée was scared to death. I was 19. he was 20. (High School sweethearts, & I did not know he was a cheater ) It never occurred to me, he might be "pushed" into marriage, because of that. My parents, should have cancelled the wedding , but back then, it was honorable for them, that their daughter left the house MARRIED! NOTHING ELSE WOULD DO. They were very controlling. I was still a teenager. Back then, that is what one did, GOT MARRIED. Most of my class mates were married right out of H.S. and/or pregnant. I was an "old maid" by them. I have learned a lot in the School of hard knocks. Most of you are military men on here?
Quote from: Solar on June 17, 2018, 03:43:56 AMSo you're not an Immigrant? I can't speak for all, but I know a huge number of the members are all veterans, most from the Nam era.
Quote from: LegalAmerican on June 17, 2018, 09:09:05 AMYes, I am an immigrant . Came here legally with my parents . I went to one year school, & learned numbers, cursive, in Europe. I grew up in my parens home, & they still did rearing, like the old country. I have two language 's in my head. Then, I started to learn Italian. We did not know English, when we came here. My older brother, was Valedictorian in American H.S., then became a doctor, & worked on Navy ship to save lives. Too bad, he is a liberal & voted for obama. Then went to Pakistan, to help people there, before he had to leave or get beheaded. He would not help any FAMILY member, but strangers were ok to help. Then you know all about the draft system back then. If you were in college, no draft. If you were married, no draft. Since fiancee, was goof off, he flunked out of collage. Marriage was his only chance, to AVOID the draft. I am so thankful, that good men, did the hard work, my now,,EX, did not want to do. I lost all respect for him. Wish I knew then, what I know now. A lot of heartache could have been avoided. When, I came home from my best friends wedding, he had three shirts, with lipstick all over them. I asked about it. He said nothing happened, he went dancing. Funny, he does not know how, nor went with me. I said, if this is what you are going to do, we can get a divorce, right now, NO KIDS. He SWORE on the Bible, he was faithful. He CRIED, he did not want a divorce. So, after I worked , so he could go to 3 year tech school, & 9 years later, two kids, he finally admitted, he was un-faithful. He was unfaithful, our whole marriage. One time, he took me to his mistress house, to get some videos. They worked together. After, she met me, he said, she would not sleep with him again. I don't know, what he told her about me. Back then, I was a body double for Marilyn Monroe. Did not look like her in the face, but was considered "gorgeous', by many. My point? HE WAS & STILL IS A JERK. Nothing about his character was good. DRAFT DODGER. MA MA'S BOY. CHEATER, LIAR, ABUSER OF WOMEN & HIS OWN KIDS. SO OFFICIALY,,,THANK YOU, TO ALL WHO SERVED THIS COUNTRY! YOU GAVE SO MUCH.
Quote from: Solar on June 17, 2018, 09:30:54 AMWell, glad you could make it and welcome to America, though I'm probably decades late on that one.I take it you're of German heritage?
Quote from: LegalAmerican on June 17, 2018, 10:55:49 AMSOLAR, what tipped you off? I normally do not divulge that, because of lefts with their nazi talk. One in four Americans, has some German heritage, & our country used German programs, as our model. Bridges, schools, some government.I never did manage, to write well. I put verbs in the wrong place. I did manage to graduate #37 out of 200. Back then, girls were not supposed to be smart, just do chores & DON'T TALK. Reagan proclaimed GERMAN DAY, when he was president. Oct. Guten tag.
