Many credit card companies have issued new credit card numbers to customers in the last two month.  You may need to update your information as needed to ensure that your next payment is successful.

That happened to my Dad, they assured him that there were no security issues, but that they are just sending out new cards with new numbers. It makes me wonder if it wasn't precipitated by heartbleed, though for as bad as that was supposed to be, I never heard anything after April on that either.

In the last 10 years I have had my bank change my card number, they say it is not a security issues for me.  But it has happen to someone that has shopped at a store I have.   So they are being safe then sorry.

Not all problems come from hacking.  I once had a 10.95$ charge to my bank account.  I call the bank and said I did not do this.  They look at my checking account and said there was a 10.05$ charge but it was taken off about 20 min later.  To be safe we will lock your card and send you a new one if you like.  I told them I do not shop there, so please lock it and send me a new one.  I got a new one with in a week.
