and they are idiots.
Nah, I live about 25 air miles from Tahoe and we have the new LED, only this is the design the town chose and it didn't choke like Tahoe's choice.
And yes, the LED can melt snow, but not when snow plugs the hole, and the power is out, and yeah, it will be out for weeks because the entire grid went down all over Eldorado county.
We haven't had this good of a storm in 30 years, we're finally getting back to normal.

oh. you know what...i forgot that these idiots had to put heating elements in these new LED traffic lights to burn off the snow.  you're right.   It's just not the led that will burn the snow off....it's the heating elements.   Still...they're idiots.  They didn't improve a damn thing. LOLOLOL

Neighbor got a PG&E alert, telling them, power may be restored sometime next week.

I counted more than 20 poles snapped off driving the Mule into town, and every wire was on the ground.
I think a week is a bit optimistic.

I'm guessing this will carry into the spring with spring rains adding to the problem. Was any work done on the dams that needed repair? Or was the state busy protecting voter rights of the deceased?

Excellent points~~~
Not one penny went to infrastructure, which is killing any chance of these Marxists retaining power.

Watch when flooding hits soon. I have 2 and a half feet of well packed/wet frozen snow slowly melting.
But what was supposed to be Spring runoff, will possibly hit all at once next week as a warm front with heavy rains moves in out of the South.

This snow ended the drought, we're back to a new cycle but no ones told the left yet, but when they start seeing reservoirs strained at capacity, they'll be asking why aren't we saving this water instead of trying to keep the dams at 99% capacity? (See Oroville Dam)
They're wholly unprepared for what is about to hit them.

If forecasts hold true, my normal mild creek that usually runs at 2' deep at 16' wide at its widest, is about to turn into a 16' deep raging torrent as it chokes with water into a 40MPH+ monster.
There are 100s of tributaries just like mine ready to dump in an awesome flood. People always forget, Ca weather is a murderer because they get complacent, like living in Hawaii near a volcano, but we're about to experience what one might call a pyroclastic event, something Hawaii never sees. Does that make sense?

Of course the media will claim Global warming as cover for leftist incompetence, but the truth is, the people that run this state are not in the least bit smart, they are appointees and they appointed their butt buddies under them, the smart people in Govt bailed on this State long ago.

A shitload of people are about to lose everything they have and all because because Nucellini appointed Nancy's faggot cohorts, and yes, I do mean faggot employees, the state govt is packed full of Fag shit.
This snow is by no means historic, this is normal, this is how we cycle, (we're either just busting a drought, or starting a new drought cycle).

The left allowed homes to built in historic flood plains designed to relieve the stress of the dams, the state has grown out of control with no new infrastructure to support it, like building a foundation for a one room house while the family adds another thousand floors above.

Yeah, this is next weeks news. Stay tuned. Remember all those fires out here last summer? All that loose dirt is about to head for the creeks and rivers...

That is a big wow, if there is that much difference in the creeks towards the top of the mountain, I can not imagine how it will be at the bottom, or how bad the backup waters will be where the creeks hit the rivers. I never understood why the government paid money to survey where all the flood plains were, just to allow people to build there anyway. We have the same problem here around lakes, every so many years the same homes get flooded out, tears flow, and the government helps to rebuild, AGAIN.

I'm going to start a new thread in poli since this is about to be huge news next week.
I predicted this back in October, actually, back in the summer, but I can't find the post..

This was my final post to Walks...

Quote from: Solar on October 20, 2021, 11:34:03 AMMiss ya Buddy! One last post post for ya.

The drought is over, so libs are just going to have to get used to another cycle in the history of the West.
We live for droughts and flooding deluges, that's what keeps our system alive and what created such a beautiful landscape.

Anyway, till the next drought...

We had been dodging bullets the last couple of years on big snows. Not this year. Been snowing all night and still going until this afternoon. All snow so our area is not experiencing the power outages - YET. Suppose to get some stronger winds soon. I just measured the snow on my green egg table and it was at 9". I will be in for a few days.

Stay warm!

We dodged the bullet so far. The couple of feet we got had a high moisture content, froze and stuck around, still have some in the colder spots on the property, but we didn't get the follow-up rain expected, so no flash flooding in the valley never occurred, that'll come in the spring when the thaw starts.

So far I have not heard any leftist from Asheville blame our storm on climate change.

We're having a false Spring, we're in the 70s here in the Sierra, while the valley is in the 80s.
Unfortunately, when this happens, we go back into winter and don't emerge into real Spring until possibly May. The end of March is when we normally hit Spring.

It's happened quite often, about once a decade, and every time in the last 30 years, the left blamed global warming, especially after crops fail because they're blooming right now, so a second Spring will be about 70% destroyed.

Anyway, when the libs claim our weather is global warming, refer them to this thread. This is sadly, normal for Ca.
The media will use our losses to their advantage. Remember, never let a crisis go to waste.
But all we can do is enjoy gorgeous weather, no bugs, just warm and dry.

I feel like we're in a real world soccer match, with winter at one goal, and summer at the other and both keeps scoring points.
The other day winter had the ball, then yesterday and today summer is in the lead, tomorrow winter will take back the lead for more than a week. :glare:
