We were lucky this time, it literally stopped 30 miles short of me.
Considering how far north it went into BC territory, where most don't even have an air-conditioner.
We broke 100 3 days in a row, not unusual but not really al that normal, usually we hit the upper 90s for the summer.

It looks like the spell is ending, I hope.

It call for the high 90º+ so the high for us will be about 110º with winds at 25mph+.  Talk about walking into a wall of heat when going out side.  You can go outside at 9PM and it's 90º.

The boy's are done with the second cutting hay, so there will be four cutting this year.  Sure is nice having A/C in all the tractor, not like the old days.   I see the corn is 6' tall in all area around me so it will be a good year for them.  Potatoes and Onion are doing great also.

Glad to hear it, it's dry here.
We've had a meat bee outbreak, hornets, those little bastards are scurrying for food, but this time of year is when they're looking for sugar, but they've already entered their protein cycle, they want greasy meat, fat!

In other words, if the cycle continues, they will be dying off early, which may mean an early winter.

Well it calling for 90+º but we are hitting 100+ for all week.

Had a fire down below our house and the neighbor place also up to the power substation for the area.  About 7 acre of land in all.  Farmer and forestry fire trucks had it out in about 2 hrs.  Had to replace one power pole, so power was down for 1.5 hrs.

Was nice seeing neighbors water tanker trucks spraying water on the fire before the forestry fire trucks got on site.  They can load 5000 gal or water in under 5 min.

Well it 120º in the front yard and it now 6 PM by my computer.

There are 10 fires in Washing state right now.   Also 14 fires and 3 other that are contained in Oregon now.

So we have a lot of smock in the air.  My neighbor just pick up one more large water truck, so now he has 4 in all.  They can spray for the back, sides, in front, over head, and hook up to a fire truck if need.

Well  the state shows 25 fires in the state.  The Government is only showing 17.  High temp for the last 4 days at my place has been 110, 115, 120 and 120º.  Have some 20MP winds coming in starting about 3 AM.  With a high for Monday 96º so they say.

That would be nice as I have to go into town and have my hearing aids adjusted.  My truck just passed 300.000 miles and the AC is working great yet.  The diesel cummings is giving me between 24 and 25 MPG with 500lb in the back to keep the tires on the rood at all time. It a 03 dodge ram 2500. Just starting my 5th set of tires.  Not pulling the 5th wheel anymore so I gave it to my son.

Nearly a million acre burned, and the smoke is incredible, but I've seen a lot worse.
Friday was the first day this year there wasn't a fire within 10 miles of me, that was short lived.

However, based on trees and wildlife, signs point to a very early winter, either extremely cold, or a drought breaker, but early is good!

Finally, after weeks of 90+ degree heat, unbearable smoke, we got a break in the weather, problem is, they're calling for wind gusts here in the Sierra of 28+ Mph winds.
It's clear, cool and beautiful, I pray that God doesn't allow any more new fires.

Here's the latest fire, started a couple of days ago, Caldor fire, but luckily it's on the southern end of the County, about 20 miles to the South of me.

Latest: It just got several miles closer over night. I'm still not yet concerned, because the huge fire we had a few years back gives us a buffer, but depending on wind, things could change quickly.

Yeah, staying put. I have a dozer to clear the forest, and the other thing is, I can't get fire insurance in Ca.
Long story, but it's Marxists and their politics.
The only people that can get it, don't need it. But at 3000 ft above sea level, I can get flood insurance.
