We just had snow on the dog woods, so winter is officially over, and a day later, we hit freakin 80!
Same again today, but we're supposed to cool back down, I'm not ready for summer quite yet. :sneaky:

Can you send someone out to breakup that little La Nina, we need rain. Maybe we need to sacrifice some liberals?

Hey, all cultures prior to us used sacrifice for centuries, so there must be something to it.
But as libs go, they carry little value, so we'll probably need a few thousand at a time.

Man....this thread hit me a little hard just now....although it was started by Solar...Walks is the name that sticks out. I never met Walks yet I miss the man so much. When you encounter a man's words everyday for 10 years than all of a sudden he gone it hits the heart strong when you see the name pop off the screen. With that being said RIP Walk, RIP.

Sorry to derail this thread for a moment. Now back to your regular scheduled program...The weather outside is frightening...
People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

You're good and we all miss Walks. This is the reason I keep this thread alive, in memory of a good man.

We just had over an inch of rain and now we're in the 80s. It's like living in Augusta Georgia again.

We hit summer in mid May, but that is typical for a drought year. Right now we hit upper 70"s at night for our low. We'll be in the 100's till late Sept.  :cursing:  :cursing:  :cursing:

OUCH!!
That's what I remember of Augusta Ga, it seemed like it only got hotter and hotter.
Wake up to heat, and the day only got hotter, then throw in humidity and wham!
This morning is 52 out, we may hit the 80s today, and 90 later in the week, but we have yet to have our usual upper 90s run by this time.

Oh, did ya hear we have another fire out here? Just a few miles from the other that devastated my county.
Not one project Nucellini promised, has been completed.
No clearing or raking of the forest, no thinning, not one damn thing has been done to help the forest.

To think, the left will run his loser ass in 2024.

We haven't even got hot yet and we're already having fires.
I remember back when we didn't even have fires, that is, until they changed policies and cut budgets. :sneaky:

Can't wait for the weather to change. My favorite day of each year is that morning I go out side, turn around and go get a jacket. The drought made this year so bad. The fall was fairly wet, but from the first of November till now we have had very little rain. We've had a little over 8", and thats for almost 9 months. Couple of fires, both started by welders, one by a damn windfarm company  :cursing: just one more reason to hate them, over 1500 acres burned. No houses, the several fire departments that showed up sat by the houses to protect them. Hats off to them, nobody was burned out. Grass will grow back and nobody needs those damn cedar trees anyway.

Damn, you'd think there would be more fires with so little rain?
I got our normal 50" of rain, but it doesn't matter if I get twice that amount, the summer still  dries out the forest and a match can end 100 years of growth in minutes.

Sadly, like these mass murders, fires in Ca don't start by accident, there is always evil behind them.

cattle keeps the pastures pretty short, and Texas is almost all private land no or very few public wilderness. That cuts down on most fires. Where we do have forests, fires can happen but rare, more rain in east Texas than here in the hill country. Worst forest fire we had was 2011, bad drought and the Bastrop fire destroyed 1500 homes, don't remember the acreage and houses are a lot closer there.

Right now at my house it is 98 F with 55% RH and heat index of 117 F.  Been hot like this since around the last week in June.  The only good news here is that with all the humidity we are getting rain; the bad news is that it is mostly intense to severe thunderstorms. There was a 1000 yr flood event in Columbia, SC earlier this week - rained 4" in one hour downtown...
