The fire is pushing them out. They're looking for a place to hunt an sleep, and since we still have water, they'll be bedding down in the area.

Most wouldn't notice the differences, but the bear isn't like the ones we normally have in our area, most likely he's from South of Grizzly Flats, probably traveled 25 miles or better to get here.
He couldn't move South because there just isn't enough food or water in that direction.

Last night - same bear different camera.  As he passes he suddenly senses something watching him.

Until the fire is out, it'll stay here, which doesn't bode well for competition.

I'm against feeding forest critters, we know how damaging that can be by observing inner city shit holes.

But by no fault of their own, they are competing for food. So I'm now subsidizing some of their diet with apples and grapes, not much, just enough so they don't starve.

Cameras should show an increase in activity down by the creek.

Had a skinny lion come through last night, probably had to travel quite a ways without much to eat considering so many animals are on the run from the fire, or those that didn't make it out.

Either way, food is in somewhat short supply.
