I just re-upped for 3 more years of helicopter emergency medical service from myself and wife.  Living this far out and as old as we are it a good thing for us to have.  Most of us this far out have it.  Only 50$ a year.

Good idea.  Never knew there was such a thing.

Even then, they'd still have to transport us a mile to an open area to land.

Everyone who lives out of emergency service access should probably look into this.  Accidents can happen to anyone.

What about cell service in outlaying areas?  What if you were out chopping down a tree or fell down a hill?  Can you reach someone?

5 years ago cell service depended on the wind in my area.  But now we are getting 4 bars all the time.  We hit some dead spots going into town.  But as time goes on they will be gone also down the road.  We have a landline but everything is long distance in our area.  So we have a long distance service package deal, so I use it all I can.    I make more long distance phone call now in one month than I have in my life time.

Thats a good thing.  I never heard of that before.  Will keep that in the back of my head.
It's good your cell service is getting better.  Even at the cabin some don't work at all, while others do.  But its way better then it was.
