LOS ANGELES -- William Windom, who won an Emmy Award for his turn in the 1969 TV comedy series "My World And Welcome To It" and went on to score guest appearances on several popular shows, has died.

Windom died Thursday of congestive heart failure at his home in Woodacre, north of San Francisco, his wife Patricia told the Los Angeles Times. He was 88.

Didn't Windom play the governor in The Farmer's Daughter, with Inger Stevens?

Excellent memory, had a crush on Inger as a boy, but what boy didn't?

Yeah, I think I remember "Granny" riding down the stairs on a powered platform in the show's opening sequence.

I'm surprised you were able to find that trailer.

I remember Inger Stevens in one of the Clint Eastwood westerns. Was it "Hang 'em High?"

Too bad about her problems and suicide.
