That was Toy's little puppy when we met, a black Cocker/Chihuahua mix, (I called Bait, lovingly) boundless energy, and an 18 lb alpha female who outlived 3 of our other dogs.
She finally passed at 3:00 Am on the 28th 16 years later. We will miss her greatly. She didn't leave us with a whole in her hearts, she filled one with her presence.
RIP Libby!

So sorry for your loss. There are a lot of memories she gave to y'all that I'm sure you will be playing over and over in your mind. No doubt Liberty played them too over and over. I hope it gives you comfort that she had a good family to call her own.

Thanks, it takes time, so many memories everywhere we go and all good.
It's hard to think about it, but as much as she had gone hill in the last few years, it wasn't as if she was a huge participant in activities unless we carried her to the side by side. i think watching her deteriorate slowly was the hardest thing knowing the final outcome, which was a hidden blessing in itself.
I t's over and my new GSD is distracting Toy to her wits end.

Thanks for all the caring thoughts.

Libby (Liberty Bell) was the first dog I ever picked out for myself. I remember I got the text message to come and see the litter while at Bible Study on a Sunday afternoon.  I left, once we were done, and raced over to the other side of town.  The moment I saw this little black furball I knew she was the one.  I paid $40 for her and she was worth every penny.

Side story about how we ended up on the mountain.  Solar and I had been dating a few months when he lost both of his dogs a week apart (at my house) and was heartbroken.  I told him to take Libby home with him and I would come to pick her up that evening after work.  Understand it was a good hour and a half to his house.  Long story short Libby never came home and I had no other choice but to move to the mountain to see my dog.   The perk was I got a great man in the deal.  Toy
