I think a couple of other people have done the DNA background test, and mine came back as 2.8 Neanderthal.
Neanderthal: Boorish, Ill-mannered and coarse and contemptible in behavior
But that's only a tiny part of the equation, but I take it with pride in the fact that I have a higher percentage rate than most humans.
But the actual breakdown is European. Anyone interested in doing this can register at:
https://www.23andme.com It costs about $100.0
This really is some fascinating stuff. Later they will offer a disease tree that you can follow.

Aren't we all in the end? I just find it fascinating we all came from the same place originally, as family, and like family, we go about feuding and killing one another.
Man sure is a curious lot.
You ought to do the 23&me DNA test, they have a lineage map that shows where your ancestors migrated from originally, very fascinating.
I think this stuff is fascinating too. As far as I can find, I'm mostly northern European too. However, my mom's oncologist said she had Mediterranean blood.
 I do know on her mom's side that they were Scottish and on her dad's side they were English. However, there are a few great grandmothers that can't be accounted for.

Have you done the DNA trials yet? If not, this site not only gives you a road map of your lineage, it also allows you to share your profile with others, also shows you people that registered, and how closely related you are.
I already got a email from a 2nd cousin related to my family before they came to the US.

How does that work with women? I know most of the trials have to be through male Y DNA. I've had two male cousins do it, one from each side of the family.

I don't know the specifics, but it has to do with the presense of the X cromosone.
I was surprised to see both paternal and maternal lines in the results.
For example, I knew my fathers side in depth, but my mom only told me once as a very young child she was French/German and Indian/native American, and sure enough the results showed exactly that.
