Although we are over 300 miles from the predicted landfall point in FL we are placed in a tropical storm warning situation. Because of a front we received over 3" of rain yesterday. Forecast is up to over 10" of rain from Helene. Because of the saturated ground and tropical storm winds we will have a lot of trees down. Mrs. Sup and I are OK on electricity as we have a Generac. Hopefully internet and cable will be OK, but doubtful. There is already some flooding so there will be much more.

Same here outside of Columbia, SC, except not so much rain yet; however, there will be power outages for sure, and maybe internet as most of the high speed infrastructure is on the same poles that carry power... Stay safe for sure...

As of now, 7:45am EDT, we are right in the middle of the storm. Winds are gusting to 60mph. Lost power, but have a generator and internet and cable still on.

We are without power now since 5:22AM Sept 27.  Within 5 miles of my house there are at least 15 places where trees are on power lines, have dropped power lines, or have taken out poles/transformers/lines.  I have yet to see a single Utility repair vehicle at any of these sites. Our Electrical Coop still has 9800+ meters without power in Newberry County, SC.  I was able to find gas this AM to refill my cans to run my generator, but I expect this is not going to get fixed any time soon. Having said all that, this is nothing compared to the catastrophe in Asheville and Western NC.  They are literally devastated

Mrs. Sup and I are fine. I am at the local internet location as they have opened it up for folks who do not have service back. We got power back 7 hours into the 8th day of outage. Thank goodness for our Generac generator. It immediately kicked on and ran continuously until power was restored. Certainly a good investment. Still without internet or cable. No damage to our house except for the chimney cap blowing off and a few gutter guards off. Did have two trees down. One blew away from the house, but blocked our street and driveway. Some neighbors cleared the street and my tree guy cleared the driveway on Wednesday. The other in the back took down two sections of a split-rail fence. Not too bad.

Folks it is a mess up here. Last report was 9 fatalities in Henderson County and over 70 in Buncombe County (Asheville). There are still over 200 unaccounted for in Buncombe. These are outdated numbers. So many without power, subsequently, without water because so many people have wells and the power cuts off the pumps. Ingles is open, but cash only as they cannot take cards without internet. My Wells Fargo branch is closed due to no power and I had to go to Brevard on Thursday to get some cash.
I will close by saying tropical storms and the mountains are a recipe for disaster

Got power back at 8:30PM October 4. We have no complaints, the folks in NC and Tennessee are devastated

We had our internet and cable restored yesterday. That was in the 23rd day of our outage. Slowly the area is working on recovering. When Went out yesterday it was amazing how many chainsaws I still heard in my neighborhood.
