Finally found what I wanted, a D-6 Cat in perfect running condition.
Now I can build that lake I've been wanting for 30 years.

  Now you can fill in all the ditches for ST before the snow falls.       Hmm... my understanding that lake has been there for over 200 years.

Hey...  I didn't end up in any ditches last year.  Granted I only drove in the snow once and that was to get home, where I stayed until the road was clear.

Nah. One guy building a lake on a D-6 is not in a great big hurry for a lake. A pond, maybe, but not a lake.

Gotcha. Out of curiosity, what will you use for compaction? Tracking it in with a D-6 is... iffy. Also, narrow tracks, wide tracks, high tracks? Have you got a pic to post?

We have a pretty unique soil here, shit load of clay/quartz/slate, compacts to the consistency of cement.
Dozer weighs 25 tons, so early compaction isn't an issue, and it'll sit a year before being filled. Standard tracks used for quarry work.

By law, I can only build it 6' high....That's if I follow the law.
When I'm done, it'll be quarter mile long, and only 200' across, since it's in a canyon.

Then comes the fun part, dredging it out for the gold.
