Beef Jerky has become really popular in norway the last 5 years, before it was almost unkown except for in the movies.

But the price is a staggering $179.41 for 1kg
In imperial terms I think thats $81,38 for one pound of beef jerky.
Needless to say though I find beef jerky a good snack, I never buy it Norway, but I find incredible that so many people do pay this price for it.

So I'm just wondering what is the US price for one pound or kg for beef jerky?

Hmm.... Jerky is one thing I don't like, but my wife loves it.
Nearly $20 per pound for the cheapest grade style beef, and can climb close to $500 for the prime.

I buy it at Sams club for about $15. a bag, and that a little over a lb.
But that's still a good price considering it's super lean and there's no water weight.
With that said, I bought a smoker and started making my own, and it definitely comes out better.
If you decide to go this route, use the leanest beef you can find, and do little batches to start, it's too easy to screw up if you've never done it before.

Now I smoke everything, from fish to sharp cheddar cheese, it's all good.
