I can see it's time for Eyes to make a survival trip home for meatloaf and jerky on a rope.

They're currently retrofitting vehicles today, here's a white paper from one of the contractors in the bid process.

If I were in your shoes, I'd just buy a shipping container, works as a Faraday cage and you could easily store years of food.
I have two 10' x 20' containers, one 1/3rd full of dehydrated food, enough for 3 years, so you can see it doesn't require a lot of space.
I like the idea of containers.  4 of them in a tight square formation, doors cut only in the inside, some platforms to look out.....awesomely defendable fortress.  Fairly bullet proof. Maybe a pitched roof above the whole thing.

Maybe bury one or two below before you set up the above-grade formation.

Sticking some in a cave would be great too.  Trick would be getting them there, lol.  I always thought it would be cool to own a property with a cave, then build a block wall just inside the mouth of the cave, and fill outward with dirt / grass to completely hide the opening.  Hidden little tube somewhere to get in & out.

Yes, but we should cut little holes in the containers... that way the libs can at least breath some air, and we can shove food into the holes...
