Ok, the implication is anyone with a reloader and more than 100 rounds of ammunition, a helmut and a fishing vest (tactical gear), is probably NUTS.  I stopped by a sporting goods store today and bought 50lbs of #6 shot (the price was $46 per 25# bag), and 500 rounds of dangerous ammo that could kill animals and humans (Remington 22 Thunderbolt, yeah, that's right, rimfire junk that's so inaccurate I wouldn't expect to hit a squirrel at 50'... even if he stood up, spread eagle and tempted me.)  In addition to that, I have POUNDS of gun powder (because it's sold that way), and an industrial type reloader capable of producing 600 rounds per hour!   OMG!!!!   (it's a Poness Warren, 900 - standard stuff for guys that shoot alot of trap and skeet)

Granted.... I'm not planning on starting a war, participating in an uprising, or carrying out some kind of action against the country I actually love and appreciate living in....  duh!

It's all about PERSPECTIVE and what the media is trying to communicate.  While I don't know these guys, or what they're end game is/was, I hate seeing everyday gun fun linked into bomb building and nutzo stuff.  When my wife and I shot trap (seriously), we would burn through 500-600 rounds (12 & 20 gauge) every other weekend, most of the summer and well into the fall.   We loaded on the off weekends, and shot on the on weekends.   If an unknowing person looked in our basement, they would have seen CASES of wads, hulls, 8 pounders of Red / Green / Blue & Unique gun powders, thousands of 209 primers and 1/4 ton of lead shot.

Why?

Because it's cheaper to buy in bulk and load precise loads than suffer with the off-the-shelf stuff... it was about 1/3 of the price!

When my 3 brothers, and our neighbors would get together for our Memorial / July 4th / Labor Day friendly trap shoots...  We would load 5 gallon buckets-o-shells (4-5 of them), and 10-12 cases of various sizes sporting clays, 2 throwers - and have a whale of fun, chasing doubles, tripples, quads (up to 6 birds on a single throw)...!   It's a team event, maybe a half pound of shot airborne at any given time.  The ground around us was red & yellow with hulls.

Now for the newspaper guy that never got in on the fun - it might look a little intimidating...
For us... we still grin and laugh about those holiday get togethers...
Afterwards, we'd sit down for a slow smoked Ham & Prime Rib dinner.

Sorry, AP, CNN, etc... you can't have that much fun with a stupid video game.

Yeah, I read this BS earlier, and didn't know who was the bigger idiots, the accused for running their mouths,  AP for bad Urinalism, or the FED for bending reality under the guise of "allegations".

This crap is getting ridiculously out of control, the FED needs to be hogtied.

Who knows what those guys were really thinking?!   People talk, and talk, and just go on with their lives - blowing off steam by verbalizing is the way many people vent frustration, shooting cans, trap, is another, taking high risks (like jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, with a cloth thinner than a bed sheet) - clears the mind of confusion...   maybe they liked to blow things up (and NOT kill people).

But, leave it to the media to get as much mileage out of this as possible, lump as many of their enemies into the same mold and continue to demonize gun owners, hunters, sport shooters by implying "stockpiling" is preparing for insurrection.

IMO - it could have been the FED didn't need to say anything, just show the media some pictures - and they'd turn it into a blockbuster story to scare the liberals and inflame the conservatives.  I suppose they did that at the OK Corral, printed an "Extra - read about about it, Big Gun Fight today!"  They created the crisis, and covered the details!

Remember that James Bond flick, the media barron, Carver News Network (or something like that)?
QUESTION:  When the news media folks watched that, "who" did they consider the bad guy?  Bond or Carver?
