Title: Women's national soccer team players sue for equitable pay
Post by: walkstall on March 08, 2019, 05:43:42 PM
Asking for more pay, then play with the big boys.  That way there will be no gender discrimination.  Shit or get off the pot!

snip~
Players for the U.S. women's national soccer team have filed a federal gender discrimination lawsuit seeking pay that is equitable to that of their male counterparts.

The action comes just three months before the team will defend its title at the Women's World Cup in France.

1.  These women agreed to the contract they signed.  Why sign if they don't agree?

2.  They're getting other benefits like guaranteed salary and health benefits men don't get.  So, all of the pay they would get is going to their benefits.

3.  My experience is women's sports don't get as much of an audience so this may be a factor.

So, there is no discrimination here.

It is all about the money. If the women bring in more revenue they will receive more compensation.

Watch the men's college or pro basketball: stands are full.

Watch the woman's equivalent: lots of empty seats.

Are there even the women's equivalent of a LeBron James, or a hall of famer like Charles Barkley that non-basketball players would know?

Exactly SOS,  I've seen a few of women's games and men's games.   You are right on this.  I was shocked by this when I saw the disparity.

Even in professional wrestling, WWE tries to push women's match as a main event when it is the men who are the draws for the brand.

And, my mom knows who Barkley, Shaq, LeBron, and Steph Curry are. Are there any female players that the non-sports person would recognize?

The only one I can think of is one who is in MMA and that's Rhonda Rousey.
