Title: Whistling Straits
Post by: kit saginaw on August 14, 2015, 07:37:58 PM
The Wisconsin-course makes 2015 the year of the picture-postcard Majors, with 3 of them located along coastlines.

And the wind really was whistling this afternoon, as a violent lightning-storm appeared out of nowhere.

What sucked is the spike in gas-prices around the State and the entire Midwest.  Wtf?  It's over 3.50.  The fans weren't planning on that.

Well, at least they got to see John Daly power-hurl a golf-club into Lake Michigan from a grassy bluff.  McElroy's comeback looks smooth, though he's languishing around 12th-place.

I want to play that course someday.  I remember watching the 2004 Championship and just becoming huge Eels and Goosen fan.  I think their swings are just so smooth.

Anyway, I remember the wind and how impossible I thought it would be to play that course.

If Spieth stays close on this, then he really, really, really is the real deal.  I never count out Rory.

Daly is like the Donald Trump of the PGA.

Daly is like the Donald Trump of the PGA.

Coincidentally, like Daly, McElroy flung a golf-club into the lake at Trump's Doral-course last March.  The next day Trump was being interviewed holding the club.  McElroy signed it and they gave it to some kid.

-Was an unusual mix of birdies and atrocious misfires today.

Spieth and Day are in the final-paring for tomorrow.
