Steep, You bet!!! Beautiful.. I love it, but I've always had an affinity for the forest.
I guess it goes back to the days when I needed to recharge, the smell, the absolute quiet has always been an attraction.

The clothesline is just this side of where I parked my Dozer, set the emergency brake, jumped off, turned around and say 25 tons of iron rolling down the mountain.
I had no idea the emergency brake was pretty much worthless, but I do no. :glare:

I had Toy upload this because it's the most recent pic of me and our Shepherds.
This road is the halfway point and I'm heading down to the campsite where I had to push over some bugged trees with my Dozer, which destroys everything it touches, literally dug a trench in the road coming out of the creek, and the tractor is the only way to clean up its mess. (use Dozer, follow with tractor.)

Did you have to cut the roads in? How, other than daily, do you keep the roads clear?

Yeah, I rented a Dozer and cut the road in, then borrowed a neighbors tractor to clean it up.
That section is easy to maintain, the rest needs attention nearly every month, be it fall leaves, winter snow erosion or rain, and trees coming down.

It's always something.

I had an old friend who used to get his Shepherds straight from a noted German breeder.

Because I have, and it's not pretty.
