People sleep peacefully at night because there are a few tough men prepared to do violence on their behalf.

A foolish man complains about his torn pockets.

A wise man uses it to scratch his balls.

Never as a kid thought this would be possible. Nor can I think of what will be possible in the future.

I was just talking to an old engineer buddy who is an working for a global manufacturer.
I won't say where he currently works, this is confidential, but he said they were working on robotics to service their equipment.

In other words, the mechanic is being phased out, the bot will take the unit apart using specialized tools for the job, diagnose the issue, order the parts and install them. Nuts n bolts? Nope, completely revamped!
With their particular units, they were able to use heavier parts, most over 300lbs and up, but the bot is designed to handle it, so it literally cuts out the human mechanic. No more injuries, that is their motivation, workmen's comp is killing them.

He said they're shooting for 2030 +? But first they need a fleet of bots that can service and repair, so they're looking to completely revamp their products in relation to the bot.
He didn't go into anymore detail, said they are working diligently to make it happen, spending in the billions.

Think fast food and robotic cooks, kiosks and no people, that's the future. And these are high skilled jobs that will disappear.
So to all you bleeding hearts out there whining about Min Wage? Shut the fuck up, or you won't even have that as backup.
